The Art of Conan Review

This post is a straight up review of The Art of Conan by Modiphius Entertainment. Now, I have to send out a thank you to Modiphius Entertainment for sending me a PDF copy of the book for review. They did this through DriveThruRPG. With that out of the way, let’s talk a bit about The Art of Conan.

What It Is

The number one thing that I want my readers to know when they see my reviews is more about the product. I figure you can make your own decision on whether you want to buy it and if you see value at its price level. So what is The Art of Conan? It is a book containing art from all of the Conan Role Playing Game books by Modiphious Entertainment. This includes their core rule book, source books and supplements.

They separate the art out by book (so you know where it is from). For each book, there is a short one page blurb detailing what the book is about. This helps set the scene. I believe this book gathers together the art from a total of 17 books to one single spot.

As a note, there are no rules or game content in this book. This book is solely about the art of the series.

The Art

As you can expect from a Conan license, the art work is incredible. If you like sword and Sorcery images, you will likely like this art book. This is regardless of whether you are involved with the RPG or not.

To better let you know what is in this book, I asked Modiphius for permission to share their artwork for this post. They graciously agreed. Check this stuff out.

This is an image from their core rule book. Beautiful!

An excellent picture from Conan the Pirate.
One of my favourite images. This one is from Nameless Cults.

As you can see, the quality of the artwork speaks for itself. This book looks great!

Wrapping it up

If you like Conan and the Sword and Sorcery type art then this book will be right up your alley. They hired some great artists for their role playing game and gathered all of that Conan art up to this one book.

I have to thank Modiphius Entertainment once again for sending me a PDF copy of the book for this review of The Art of Conan.

For any big spenders out there, there is currently a bundle for sale on DriveThruRPG where you can get this book, and the other Modiphius Conan role playing books for a faction of the price (roughly 66% off).

For other stories about Modiphius, see our posts about Rangers of Shadow Deep: Deluxe Edition, Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms, and Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish.

Until next time, Happy Gaming Everyone!!!
