Monster Scenery Terrain Review – Crystal Nodes

In this review, I share with you Monster Scenery: Crystal Nodes by Monster Fight Club. They scaled their terrain with miniatures 28mm to 40mm in mind. When I saw these Crystal Nodes, I instantly thought that they would work well with Frostgrave. Of course, you could use them for a wide variety of other games too.

Ice Crystals as objective markers in Frostgrave
You can easily use these nodes as objectives and treasure in games like Frostgrave. You could use them as scatter terrain too.

Let’s take a look at what you get.

Disclaimer: Monster Fight Club sent me this terrain piece for review. While I accept review products, I am in no other way compensated for my posts and reserve the right to give positive and negative reviews.

Monster Scenery Crystal Nodes

In the Monster Scenery: Crystal nodes set, you get 2 rocks of different sizes and four crystals. The large rock is pre-painted resin, the small one is pre-painted plastic and the crystals are made of coloured resin. They come as a bubble wrapped collection rather than in a retail box. They sell for $24.

The four Crystals and two rocks that come in the Crystal Nodes – Sapphire Blue terrain set. You can also buy these in Emerald Green.

The complete set all together. As you can see, the Crystals fit on the rocks perfectly. If you prefer to use them separate from these rocks, you can do that too.

Adding in Other Scenery

While the Crystals look good on their own, they look better when you make them a part of a larger scene. Here is a table set up with all the terrain Monster Fight Club sent me together.

This tabletop using all Monster Fight Club terrain looks fantastic. I set this terrain up on their 3′ by 3′ Broken Grasands / Desert Scrubland gaming mat.

Personally, I am having a lot of fun with this terrain. Monster Scenery has a distinct look that really pops on the tabletop. Best of all, it is all prepainted!
