Review of SpaceNam Miniatures by Wargames Atlantic and Reptilian Overlords

In this post, I review the SpaceNam Miniatures by Wargames Atlantic and Reptilian Overlords.

Wargames Atlantic and Reptilian Overlords Team up together to bring these awesome 28mm Sci-Fi Jungle Fighter SpaceNam miniatures for your tabletop games. If you want to increase your ranks of soldiers for your favourite sci-fi wargames, give these guys a look!

The Box and Contents

Inside this boxed set, you get 20 miniatures for a great price. Right now, they are running for $39.95 on the Wargames Atlantic website. If you want to build a larger army, you can get them down to as low as $29.90 per box if you buy bulk buy multiple sets directly from the manufacturer.

These miniatures are as muscular as you can get. They look like something right out of an 80’s sci-fi movie. If you like that look, Reptilian Overlords nailed it!

The Sprue

Let’s take a quick look at the sprue. Inside each box you get 5 of these sprues. Enough to make 20 miniatures with lots of options.

Building the Miniatures

Once built, these miniatures look good!

In here, I get two ten-man units of infantry.

I built one set with regular heads.

And the other with Berets. Both groups I armed with two flamethrowers, but there are sniper rifles, grenade launchers and plama and melta like weapons in the box too.

The boxes don’t come with bases (you need to supply your own), and I found that two out of four miniatures I needed to prop up while the glue dried. Aside from that, these miniatures are very easy to build.

Close Up Shots of the Minis

Below are some close-up shots of the minis.

Awesome Minis in this box!

Love that sniper!

There is a separate walkie talkie on the sprue. Guess this is the closest to a vox-caster like mini in this set. Still pulls off the effect of a radio operator though.

There are just a few backpacks in this set. I used it to denote the radio operator.

This mini looks awesome!!!

Even without paint on these figures, you can tell there is some great details on them.

This one I armed with two rifles. I could do that with the Ratling like minis that I reviewed last week too.

The Seargent.

This guy is in the act of reloading his gun.

Now, let’s take a look at how these figures line up versus other ones.

Scale Comparison

I use these miniatures for One Page Rules’ Grimdark Future miniatures game. That said, they are generic enough that they could serve as friendly proxies in other games (such as Warhammer 40K).

Here is a scale comparison image. Left to right, Wargames Atlantic Eisenkern Stormtrooper, SpaceNam, Primaris Marine, Wargames Atlantic Cannon Fodder Miniature, SpaceNam and a Wargames Atlantic Les Grognard Miniature.

These jungle fighters are slightly bigger than other Wargames Atlantic Sci-Fi minis.

Above I removed the Primaris marine and added in three more Wargames Atlantic Death Fields miniatures. One the far left is a Sneakfeet miniature and a Bulldog miniature. On the far right is a Raumjäger Infantry model.

Wrapping it up…

If you are looking for some great minis to fill out your jungle fighter ranks for a 28mm sci-fi game, check out these SpaceNam miniatures by Wargames Atlantic. They have a likeness to GW’s Catachan Jungle Fighters but are still different.

If you liked this article, check out my previous post about the Sneakfeet miniatures (aka Halfling Snipers) by Wargames Atlantic. As a reminder, if you head to the Wargames Atlantic website and see something you like, they give you a price break for buying multiple boxes of the same unit. That is great for filling out the ranks of miniatures needed for whatever army you play.

Until next time, Happy Gaming Everyone!!!
