This week I took a little bit of a break from the hobby. I got no painting done and played no games. What I have been doing though is watching releases come out from the first two days of GenCon and playing Battlefleet Gothic: Leviathan (A GW licensed product) on my IOS.
Battlefleet Gothic: Leviathan |
Many of my readers will know that I have a love hate relationship with GW. When I played Leviathan, I thought “wow – they hit it out of the park with this game.” The game came out to be just over $9 Canadian after taxes and was a fantastic way to spend an Apple Gift Card that someone gave me. It is pretty addictive and I wish there were more games on the IOS simulating miniature games. Currently Battlefleet and X-COM are the only games on my IPad.
Lots has caught my eye at GenCon, so far…
- There is a new edition of Mansions of Madness coming out which I think is really cool. Not sure if I will buy it or not, but I am excited about the product.
- Fantasy Flight Games is making a another Miniatures Game (Based on their Rune Wars World).
- Warlord Games is taking Pre-Orders for their Bolt Action 2 Starter Game. For me, that is an auto-buy. I have to talk to my FLGS (Forbes Hobbies) to get me a box. I will have to sell off my X-Wing Collection to fund the move and to make room in my collection. Let me know if you live in the KW area and are interested in buying an X-Wing Collection at a decent price.
- Warlord Games has also released two of their Konflikt ’47 Starter sets. I am very interested in the German set but don’t have the money to buy it at this time. A friend of mine bought that same very set and I hope to do an unboxing with him for this website.
