OnePageRules Alien Hives Burrower Review

In this post, I quickly review and discuss the Alien Hives Burrower by OnePageRules for their Grimdark Future miniatures game. This model could be used as a proxy Tyranid Trygon or Mawloc model if you are playing Warhammer 40K amongst friends who don’t care if you use proxy miniatures. Personally, I will be using this model for Grimdark Future as the rules are more affordable than 40K.

With that out of the way, let’s look at that Alien Hives Burrower model by OnePageRules. This miniature is a figure downloadable from MyMiniFactory and intended to be printed off from your 3D Printer. I don’t have a 3D Printer, so I had a friend print this miniature off for me.

Building the Alien Hives Burrower by OnePageRules

This model comes in a number of pieces and is fairly sizable. To glue it together, I used gel superglue.

On the opposite side of this model, I am holding an arm in place while the glue quickly dries. You can tell from the size of my hand, this is a big miniature.

One of the small arms had issues staying in place while the glue cured, so I propped it up against this box and walked away until it was attached. The end model looked really good.

The Completed Model

I still need to get a base for this miniature, but it looks good!

The armour on the back looks great. There are some small parts of the supports left behind, but I think I can leave those and paint the model like it is coming out of the dirt. Afterall, it is a burrowing alien.

I like the look of this model. You can also buy it in an army bundle from OnePageRules on MyMiniFactory.

Overall, a great looking miniature at a really good price (provided you have access to a 3D printer).

Wrapping it up…

Today’s post was about sharing with you a cool model that a friend 3D printed for me. If you like this model, check out my post about some other miniatures that a friend of mine painted (also from MyMiniFactory). You can also check out a video of a tank from MyMiniFactory I had printed and painted. Both these other models we used in games of Grimdark Future, just as this miniature will be in the future.

I have to say, 3D Printed models and the abilities of printers have come a long way since my first 3D printed model. The Models by OnePageRules are especially nice in their aesthetics. If you haven’t checked them out on MyMiniFactory yet, give them a look. They also have their own website, and you can get their rules from DriveThruRPG too [affiliate link]. I personally play and enjoy Grimdark Future.

Have your printed off any miniatures from MyMiniFactory or OnePageRules? Let us know what you think of them in the comments below.

Until next time, Happy Gaming Everyone!!!
